Absorption
The retention of moisture by a substance
Air Knife
(1) A mechanical air pressure amplifier. (2) A plenum with a narrow opening used to develop high velocity air from a low air pressure source to (a) dry/remove liquid films from surfaces (b) control the coating of surfaces, or (c) heat or cool.
Angstrom
A unit of length equal to one hundred-millionth (10Ù-8) of a centimeter, often used to specify radiation wavelengths.
Anion
An ion having a negative charge, anions in a liquid subjected to electric potential collect at the positive pole or anode. Examples are hydroxyl, OH - ; carbonate, CO3* ; phosphate, PO4 - - -.

Azeotrope
A liquid mixture with a constant maximum or minimum boiling point lower or higher than the boiling points of its components and with the capacity to distill without change in composition.
