Thank you for visiting our website. We would like to introduce to you our Enviro * Gold chemistry. EnviroSense was incorporated in 1993 with the purpose of providing environmentally safe chemicals for the cleaning of precision and electronic assemblies/components, LCD glass and other high reliability fabrication materials. The cleaning formulas are solvent/saponifiers in concentrated form, for use in the cleaning of electronic and precision assemblies. The chemistries do not contain any Ozone depleting chemicals and are very low in V.O.C. content. All of the compounds contained in the formulas are biodegradable. We also manufacture rinse additives, coating removers and solder brightening additives.

The Enviro * Gold cleaning formulas are capable of removing all types of fluxs: RA/RMA (Rosins), Water Soluble O/A (Organic Acid), HASL and Low Solid (No-clean) using concentrations of 3% to 12% of the formulas in de-ionized water. The cleaning formulations are unique in that they utilize multiple surfactants that enable the chemistry's saponifying agents to be carried under stand-offs as low as 1.0 mil.

Field-testing has demonstrated Enviro * Gold cleaning compounds have numerous applications. They may be used for the cleaning of solder stencils, bare boards or for pre-cleaning prior to conformal coating. They also remove light oil processing residues. Utilizing various parameters the products have oxide removal and have passivation properties.

The #816/18.54A product has been tested for its ability to remove post assembly rosin flux residues utilizing I.P.C. Phase II materials and parameters. These tests were performed by Contamination Studies Laboratories (C.S.L.) of Kokomo, Indiana. IPC B-36 coupons, mounted with LCCs, were cleaned with Freon TMS as benchmarking test controls. Ion chromatography showed #816's reduction of chloride was five times more effective than bench-marked Freon cleaning. C.S.L.'s testing included a 168-hour S.I.R. (Surface Insulation Resistance) to determine #816s effect on electrical performance. Additional tests were performed by Sherry Laboratories of Muncie, Indiana to determine C.O.D., B.O.D., closed cup flash-point values, and the possible presence of EPA listed V.O.C.'s (Reports enclosed). The base material, Monoethanolamine (MEA), is on the EPA preferred alternative chemical list. The formulated product meets D.O.T. non-corrosive standards.

Many types of solvent/ CFC-free alternative compounds currently available tend to have some of the following draw-backs:

  • Product loss from high V.O.C.'s content
  • Irritating odor
  • Having very low flash points
  • Containing ethylene glycols
  • Producing excessive foam
  • Leaving ionic residues under low stand-off components and in vias
  • Scaling of cleaning equipment
  • Having hazardous disposal issues
  • Being cost prohibitive

The Enviro Gold #816 eliminates or reduces these above "unwanted" characteristics and environmental issues.
